Children special educational needs

Our team are all volunteers based in Ghana and (Bedford) the UK, dedicated to child welfare, long term development of children, and raising awareness on children with special needs.

We look for funding from the UK and around the world where funding goes straight to the projects in Ghana.

Insufficient social welfare programmes for disabled children are among the factors inhibiting their physical, mental, and general development. Other problems are inadequate educational and employment opportunities.

As an organisation, the focus of our work is on children with special needs, their families and carers.

Helping children in desperate need

We liaise with the Department of Social Welfare in the Ningo-Prampram / Shai-Osudoku Districts in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana who currently have over 539 people on their disability register and still counting.

Many more have not been registered yet because it is a big challenge for the department of Social Welfare to have access to reach and identify disabled children who are in the remotest areas of the district.

In Ghana, families are often challenged not knowing how to respond to a disabled child and through no fault of theirs, children with disabilities in Ghana continue to experience hardship.
